Thursday night the weather was bloody awful and the local trains a nightmare! Nothing I hadn’t experienced before though! Our rail system makes the Flinstones form of transport looks superb!
On arrival at KK’s I quickly set up my camera and now was the time to photograph Enjoyable Listens. To be honest I’d never heard this band and how they were described intrigued me!

From the moment Enjoyable Listens hit the stage I was captivated as I took photos. Their Indie-Pop / Synth sound with other influences thrown in for good measure was far too exciting to ignore!
I wasn’t the only one!
As the audience came in the band were now playing to a sizeable crowd and they delivered that set in style with no compromise in the quality department!
These folks are lovely and their album is bang on the button too!
Please do check them out!

After a drink at the bar it was time for The Bluetones to hit the stage and they didn’t disappoint throughout their set which 600 were lapping up including myself!
Tonight they were playing their debut album Expecting To Fly in it’s entirety. Anyone who knows this band will tell you what a superb Indie-Rock band The Bluetones are. Their debut album is one of the best albums to come out of the 90’s!
Mark Morris and co were celebrating 30 years of Expecting To Fly and they played the album like I’ve never heard it before! The experience was just surreal and their was no letting up!
The Bluetones and their fans bounced off each other which left me thinking this was one of the best gigs I’d ever experienced at KK’s Steel Mill!
I don’t say that lightly either!
If that wasn’t enough The Bluetones played some of their other hits and the show was over!
What a blast – What a gig!
The train journey was a nightmare home but the enjoyable time I had watching The Bluetones play kept things calm!
Thanks to Mark Kelly at Strada Music and Sally at The Pad Presents for sorting this show for me.
