It’s not very often to I review singles as I don’t usually play them but The Skate Punx are decent guys who I’ve been a tad disappointed with in the past release wise. i felt there was something missing when it came to guitars in the mix.

Having gone away and thought about it they’ve come back at me with their soon to be released single What A Fuckin’ Year This Week Has Been.

To start with this is a cracking song in the style of early Bad Religion / Pennywise. If this was released by either band fans would be talking about it!

Production and sound very solid with a great tune to bounce about to with some great vocal delivery. Guitars ans bass sit well in the mix and the drummer really knows his stuff keeping all this together!

I love that they’ve managed to capture the power of their live set in this recording!

A live set worth seeing which has seen them open up for the likes of US hardcore legends Agnostic Front.

The new song is out on the 24th October 2025.
