Loving this album being released as it captures Sunderland’s finest Red Alert live in the eighties – A live gig which surfaced a short while back!
OK not the greatest recording of live gigs but that was punk back in the eighties! What this recording does capture a Red Alert songs live and raw with plenty of crack in between!
I loved Cast Iron and I loved Red Alert.
Their tunes were the backbone to my fly-picketing during the 1984/5 Miners Strike!
What you get for your money are thirteen live tracks which are available to purchase as Download, CD or Vinyl. I chose vinyl.
This live album kicks off with Take No Prisoners and steam rollers through into songs such as We’ve Got The Power, Sell Out, In Britain covers such as Bad Man (Cockney Rejects), C.I.D. (UK Subs) and the album closes with Blockbuster (Sweet).
As I said the quality of the recording is going to be either hit or miss with you but for me its great as it captures street punk Red Alert style.
The hard copies come with unseen photos of Red Alert from this live show which adds to its charm!
Worth a punt?
Yes – Its Red Alert!
