With health failing at times I’ve only really managed to read this book in between hospital appointments, hospital beds and my own sofa when recovering!
What do I think of An Anarchy And Demons?
This book is brilliant!
If my health wasn’t suffering I would have got through this book in a couple of sittings as its addictive from the very start!
I’ll get the only grumble out the way and that’s the Pressure 28 story from around 2012 wasn’t told. It would have been interesting to read Charlie’s take with hindsight on the matter!
Enough of that.
This story begins from when Chharlie was born during World War Two where is could have been over when a bomb was dropped just at the end of his road!
This carries on to his school years where he’d get beatings from the nuns. That’s very close to home as my aunt was beaten by nuns to the point of crippling her in later life!
Those years in school was an interesting read which includes Charlies introduction to Rock n Roll.
The scene is set with various musical endeavours which eventually leads to the UK Subs!
UK Subs what a band eh? One of the earliest bands I got into back in 1977 as a ten year old! Funnily enough my parents didn’t mind buying me vinyl as long as it wasn’t the Sex Pistols!
Most of this book overs the highs, lows, band members coming and going, the tours, the records the lot!
What a superb read!
I won’t go into the contents as it’ll spoil this enjoyable read!
If you haven’t got this book then I highly recommend you do as its one of the best stories told by the longest running front man in punk!
