Three days before this show happened I was rushed in for surgery and I must have been mad to even attempt this show but I threw caution to the wind and headed out to Wolverhampton to visit KK’s Steel Mill which in my opinion is the best venue in the UK!

On arrival at KK’s I was rushed in quickly and picked up my press pass before heading to the merch table to talk to Tommy Drongo who was looking after Dirt Box Disco’s merch.

First band up were Dirt Box Disco. Having seen these plenty in their early days I thought the joke had worn very thin and wasn’t really looking forward to their set.

Well that was until they hit the stage!

Russ and co were bang on from the moment they hit the stage and in fairness DBD changed my opinion of ‘Fun Punk’ pretty quickly! Some of the songs I knew and others were like a breath of fresh air!

Looking at the Wildhearts fans some got it and others didn’t but those who got it were quickly won over by Dirt Box Disco.

Dirt Box Disco played a blinding 30 minutes with the intensity that their lives were in danger and by the time of their final number ‘My Life Is Shit’ they were playing to a large crowd!

I promise I wont be leaving it another decade to see Dirt Box Disco.

I’d go as far to say they were one of the best live experiences I’ve had over the past few years!

After chatting to some friends I was advised to check out the main headline support Jim Jones All Stars as I’d never heard their music before!

I did just that!

I was very surprised to see eight members hit the stage and at that point I still didn’t know what to expect!

Jim Jones All Stars from the moment they hit the stage really grabbed my attention and I was lapping up that musical experience!

Jim Jones All Stars are a band to experience crossing Rock n Roll with Jim Morrison with many of their own ideas fused in to their sound!

For around fourty-five minutes I wasn’t the only one enjoying this experience. there were almost six hundred other folks loving what they were being delivered.

This is a band I want to experience live again and I can’t wait for that day!

Until then I’ll be looking at their back-catalogue to add to my vinyl collection!

Jim Jones All Stars
are one of the best things in UK music and I can’t believe I’d never heard these guys before!

Shame on me!

Thanks to Puggi and Maxine for the heads up!

Having had a lemonade and a chat to a few folks it was time for The Wildhearts to hit the stage! I wasn’t too sure what to expect as I hadn’t seen this band in years (Never being in the same towns at the same time)!

After hearing The Wildhearts latest album Satanic Rites Of The Wildhearts I had to be at this show even if it meant being pushed their in a wheel chair!

Ginger and co strolled out and then let their instruments do the talking!

What an explosive start and the addition of pyrotechnics really got the crowd going!

This turned out to be one of the best Rock n Roll gigs I’d ever witnessed!

The Wildhearts delivered in style and everyone in the audience was going fucking mental!

This was a gig of epic proportion and anyone who says different has no clue about Rock n Roll and how it should be delivered!

There was no stopping The Wildhearts!

Aside from an amazing Rock n Roll experience Ginger chatted to the audience and echoed my thoughts of KK’s Steel Mill being the best venue in the UK!

I loved the show that much I picked up a vinyl copy of the new album before heading lapping up one more song before having to leave the venue as the pain from the operation was now at a level of ten!

I may have missed the last fifteen minutes of The Wildhearts set but I enjoyed the experience of seeing one of the best Rock N Roll bands the UK has ever produced!

Thanks to Mick of The Wildhearts management for arranging everything!

Thank You!
