Ruts DC are my favourite British band at the moment! They simply can’t do anything wrong! While most bands tend to go downhill with age Ruts DC age well. You know like a fine vintage!
When Ruts DC came up with the idea of these acoustic sessions I must admit I was a tad sceptical! Lets face it their discography is amazing! I can’t think of a poor release so I thought why bother acoustically covering already perfect songs?
Well Ruts DC are now on their third outing of covering their back catalogue and like the previous two volumes I’m still digging what this three-piece are doing!
The idea of the electr-acoustic sound to their past music brings not only a different dimension to their past songs but you are treated to an unforgettable brilliant experience!
Trust me when I say how magical this album is!
Ruts DC starts the proceedings with Vox Teardrop which sets the high standard for the rest of album. Just listen to Dope For Guns and Jah War which are two of my favourite Ruts songs and they really do stand out!
There’s over cool songs on this release such as Secret Soldiers, Bound In Blood, Human Punk and closing with Society.
Thirteen tracks in all and not one filler!
Ruts DC were the first band to ever cross Punk and Dub with success and this electr-acoustic album carries on that fine tradition! You really do need this baby in your collection! 10/10
