After having spent ages searching for the 0XYO Venue I managed to get their in time to see opening band Loose Articles. I’d never heard of this Manchester before but they certainly won me over with their 30 minute performance!

Imagine the Riot Grrrl sound crossed with Bubblegum Pop and you get an idea of what this band sound like. Erin and co really delivered the goods tonight and its not hard to see why the Foo Fighters invited Loose Articles to open for them!

The audience seemed to enjoy them too and a brilliant choice of band to open what turned out to be a fantastic gig. Get to see them! You wont be disappointed!

Loose Articles have their debut album on Alcopop! Records out this summer – Watch out for it!

After almost choking at the venue wanting £6 for a can of Estrella I decided to head to the photo pit when Violet Malice hit the stage!

To be honest I didn’t know what to expect but I was soon to find out and I loved every minute of this comedy / poetry set. Imagine John Cooper Clarke with the late Judge Dredd and you get an idea where this is heading!

There were hilarious tales about cumming on buses, being filled with lots of cum, anal stuff, cocks and more! This was just the tip of the iceberg and the entire place were in tears of laughter!

Violet Malice armed with just a book and words really is a brilliant night out and I can’t wait to see her again!

The Lovely Eggs have recently put out their new album Eggsistentialisn which I recently reviewed and is brilliant so I decided to pop along to see them play! In fact if it wasn’t for commonsense kicking in I would have arrived at the venue a week early!

Don’t Ask!

Come just after 9pm it was time for The Lovely Eggs to hit the stage and they hit it in style despite the technical hitch at the start of their set!

Holly Ross and David Blackwell who make up The Lovely Eggs tore through their set just over a hour long made up of old and new songs which the crowd were loving!

This psych-punk duo certainly know how to deliver a great show and they also show you don’t need to deliver a piss-poor set because you’re doing this all DIY!

For me and I’m sure other gig attendees last night will safely agree with me this was one of the best gigs they’d witnessed all year!

Even though I had a tight schedule with the gig ending then having to run to the train station with my tits flying all over the place I didn’t want this gig to end!

I felt like I was in heaven and The Lovely Eggs wiped away the world’s problems from my mind just for a hour. I thank them for that!

Fantastic Gig!

The Lovely Eggs are currently on a UK tour – Please check them out!

Thank you to James Sherry from Division for sorting out the press pass.
