Boxing Day 2023 I had a few friends around where we had drinks and played / talked about bands. My friend’s sixteen year old son mentioned Youth Sector and played some stuff by them. Everyone was impressed so come the new year I checked out some You Tube footage.

Roll on a couple of months and I find out they’re supporting the Kaiser Chiefs in Wolverhampton so track down their management team and politely ask for a press pass!

I was so pleased to get one.

On arriving at the venue I had to move fast as Youth Sector were about to hit the stage in the next five minutes! Standing in the photo pit I was left in awe when they finally hit the stage.

From the funky uniforms as they hit the stage was grand enough but then they started playing and I was hooked! Youth Sector grabbed the audience with their alternative rock sound which was very different to what I’ve heard before!

Throwing other genres into the mix showed that Youth Sector were more than just pretty faces and cool outfits. This five-piece captured the audience. In fact they captured me as momentarily I forgot I was there to take photos.

From the back of the Halls Youth Sector delivered every song in style and some of the audience were talking about how great they were! I was stood their enjoying the moment and having a little dance.

Youth Sector delivered in style and I for one loved what they are about. I was saddened when they left the stage as they could have played on for ever as far as I was concerned!

I hope to see more of Youth Sector as they’re one of the few bands that have really captured me in 2024. If you’re off to see the Kaiser Chiefs on their current tour get their in time to see Youth Sector!

Thanks to Simon of Holy Moly Management for arranging everything!
