Last year I was introduced to the music of Cassyette by a friend’s daughter and I was blown away by what I heard. Friday night I headed off to KK Steel Mill to see how Cassyette’s music could be translated live as there’s just so much going on!
In the photo pit I eagerly awaited Cassyette to hit the stage and the moment had arrived with the opening number Degenerette Nation which was not only a great opener but the visuals with it were amazing. Creativity at it’s best!
Soon it was straight down to business with tracks such as Ipecac and I knew then Cassyette was something special. Fusing elements of pop, rock, metal and goth works here and by now the crowd were lapping it up!

I was left speechless at Cassyette’s energy which is every live photographer’s nightmare at times. Not only that but Cassyette really has a connection with her fans and very humble and thankful too!
What also blew me away were the cold pyrotechnics which I had only seen once before at a Bowling For Soup show! They were fun popping up every so often!
The set continued with songs such as Like That, September Rain, Picture Perfect and more. I was in awe at Cassyette’s energy, integrity and creativity in her live show. This live show had to end sometime and this amazing woman finished with Dear Goth in which the crowd just went mental!

I left the venue feeling really entertained and seeing how Cassyette works to such a high standard.
Cassyette’s band were amazing. Charlie Harman was a powerhouse on drums and battered his kit to death. Fantastic watching him in action. The guitarist was well on top of his game too! They both compliment Cassyette’s style big time.
On August 23rd 2024 Cassyette will be releasing her debut album This World Fucking Sucks via 23 Recordings.
If the live show is anything to go by this album is going to kick ass!
Thank you to Sunni Lekh at 414.com for arranging the press pass.
