Its been a while since I saw The Hives. Probably their first headline tour of the UK if the truth be known. I think since then this Swedish Garage Rock n Roll outfit and I have never managed to be in the same place at the same time!

For anyone who hasn’t see The Hives yet really are missing out as not only do they play great music but their stage show is second to none with the way vocalist Howlin Pelle Almqvist throws himself around the stage.

Anyway on to the concert!

The Hives kicked off their set with Bogus Operandi (From their 2023 album) and it was full steam ahead with Main Offender, Two Kinds Of Trouble, Walk Idiot Walk and Good Samaritan when they slowed down Hate To Say I Told You So where they really engaged with the crowd for a sing-a-long!

It wasn’t long before The Hives were back to full pelt with Bigger Hole To Fill, Die Alright and Wont Be Long!

At this point the crowd were going mad and it stayed this way until the final song of the set. Sadly because of how the trains were running I missed the encore!

It was great to see The Hives play new songs off their 2023 album The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons. Those tracks included Rigor Mortis Radio, Stick Up and Countdown To Shutdown.

All in all a top set and showing everyone that The Hives have so much more to offer!
