I was so happy that Sonic Boom Six regenerated in 2023. I simply couldn’t get my head around that they seemed to have fizzled out but out the blue a short tour was sorted and there was talk of a new album. It was great SB6 were giving it another go!
Despite being in a bit of pain for the excellent Birmingham show I’d been waiting for this album for months then I had the opportunity to review Re:Generation and was excited to receive it in the post this morning!
What do I think?
Re:Generation is superb album with twelve tracks covering almost 40 minutes. Kicking off a brand new song Future Shock you’re then treated to previous songs such as No Man No Right, Virus, For The Kids Of The Multiculture finishing off with What Doesn’t Kill You Make You Stronger.
Some of the previously released songs on Re:Generation are different mixes that haven’t been released before and a couple are single mixes. They all fit so well together on one album so I’m not complaining and neither will you!
This album is banging from start to finish!
SB6‘s infused ska, punk and hip-hop is something that needs to be heard not just for the great music but also the socially aware lyrics. I swear if you want something different check out these guys as they’re doing something cool with style! 10/10
