Riot/Clone are one of my favourite Anarcho Punk bands from the 90’s. In fact they’re one of the few Anarcho bands I actually listened too! My first hearing of this band was the Why Do You Have To Eat Me? EP which I’d picked up in Sheerness of all places. Dave Floyd I later met in a pub toilet somewhere in North London at a Rubella gig!
Being an old bugger now I rarely play singles and I really haven’t got the know how to record them into MP3’s so this album for me was well worth picking up!
When I opened up the package I loved the glossy red and black sleeve and the red vinyl is just perfect so I was hoping the production was just as good quality and once on the record deck it was a thumbs up from me!
There’s 19 tracks covering every single / ep from Riot/ Clone’s discography and I have to say not one filler on here at all. Every track packs a punch but tracks like ‘Bottled Oi!’, ‘Why Do You Have To Eat Me?’, ‘Running’ and ‘Don’t Forget Your Grouse’ really did it for me! It was so good to hear all these tracks again!
You certainly get your money’s worth with the added inserts which tell the informative and honest stories around every recording from the various band members as well as Dave Floyd (Mr Riot/Clone)!
This singles album is certainly worth checking out if you want a great account of Riot/Clone at a cheap price. Some of the early releases go for silly money!
One of my favourite releases from 2023 for sure! 9/10
