Many apologies for the lengthy delay in getting this review up but with all the technical issues and me playing this album to death hasn’t helped matters either!
I didn’t know what to expect from the Wingmen as they are a super group made up of members from the Damned, Johnny Moped, Ruts DC, The Stranglers and Supergrass.
I didn’t have to wait long and bang! What a surprise! From start to finish you’re treated to some awesome alternative rock numbers and with it no fillers. Tell you what they’re even better live but this is the album to stand out in your collection.
From the opening moments of ‘Starting Blocks’ you’re drawn into one of the best albums I’ve heard in years. Musically and vocally this album is almost faultless but don’t take my word for it. Songs such as ‘The Last Cigarette’, ‘Brits’, ‘Mary Go Round’ and ‘It’s Raining All Over England’ just have to be heard!
Production wise is bang on so what you’re waiting for? These wicked musicians really have delivered a very cool alternative rock album and you the people should be purchasing this self titled album without delay! 10/10
