Grade 2 hail from the Isle Of Wight and have come on leaps and bounds since their formation around a decade ago. In that time they’ve supported some great bands including the Interrupters and Dropkick Murphy’s to name but a few!

This self titled album is the third release from this street punk outfit and to be honest its their best release yet! From the moment this self titled album kicks in you I just wanted to bounce around the room as every track is kick ass!

Grade 2 still have a slight Oi! sound but they’ve progressed both lyrically and musically drifting slightly towards an American punk sound similar to that of Lar’s Oi! stuff with a touch of Rancid thrown in so you’re in for a right treat!

Kicking off this 15 track album is ‘Judgement Day” before steam rolling into numbers such as “Under The Streetlight”, “Doesn’t Matter Much Now”, “Brassic” and my favourite track by a mile “It’s A Mad World, Baby”.

It’s great to see a young British band keeping Oi! alive but taking it to a different level without the moronic elements about kicking people’s heads in! Hopefully moving forward will keep Grade 2 relevant alive instead of falling into the trap of otheer bands where they’re pretty much irrelevant!

This album deserves not only a place in your collection but an album you go to on a regular basis!
