Dealing With Damage are back with a new album and its fantastic!
From the 0pening number ‘Sunrise’ you’re treated to 12 tracks which are heavily influenced by the DC sound – Bands like Fugazi and Rites Of Spring come to mind! Then of course there’s 90’s UK punk bands such as Sink bringing influences into Dealing With Damage’s sound.
Don’t think these guys are stuck in the 90’s. They’re coming into 2023 giving punk a right kick up the arse with style. Tracks such as ‘We Make Bombs To Feel Safe’ and ‘Walking Backwards’ really do it for me!
While their last album didn’t quite hit the spot for me ‘Use The Daylight’ has grabbed me by the throat and make me sit up and take note! Their clever lyrics and catchy tunes really has left me wanting more!
Could this be my favourite album of 2023?
If you love music with bang on lyrics then this is for you. Edd Wenn really delivers on his vocals. Mr Sherry keeping it all together on drums wirth a fantastic bassist and guitarist thrown in the mix you can’t go far wrong!
As I finish this review I’m listening to ‘John’s Gone’ which has a little Subhumans / Ruts DC sound thrown in making this my favourite song of the album!
Yep this is superb on all levels! 9.5/10
